Foundations on the Hill 2018
Presented in partnership with the United Philanthropy Forum,
the Alliance for Charitable Reform and the Council on Foundations

March 12-14, 2018 · Washington, DC · Liaison Hotel

Foundations on the Hill (FOTH) brings together foundation leaders from across the country for meetings with Congress about key issues of importance to foundations and philanthropy. FOTH is presented by SECF in partnership with the United Philanthropy Forum, the Alliance for Charitable Reform and Council on Foundations. Foundation trustees and staff work with SECF to schedule meetings on Capitol Hill to personally discuss their work with members of Congress.

Foundations on the Hill is the one time each year when philanthropy speaks with a strong, collective voice on Capitol Hill. Our goals are to inform and educate Congress about philanthropy; create visibility for philanthropy on Capitol Hill; advocate on issues affecting foundations and communities; and encourage Congress to view foundations as a resource on key public policy issues.

With the charitable sector under threat in many ways in Washington today, it's more important than ever for philanthropy to show up as a united force for good in Washington.

Who Should Attend

FOTH is intended for anyone serving as a staff or board member for any type of foundation or other philanthropic organization, including but not limited to community foundations, family foundations, private independent foundations and corporate foundations and giving programs.

Seasoned foundation representatives and newcomers alike are welcome! Training and support will be provided through state captains representing the 11 states in the SECF footprint, as well as the SECF staff.

Your Foundations on the Hill registration also allows you to attend one of two breakout sessions on Monday, March 12, a welcome reception later that evening, and the Alliance for Charitable Reform's Summit for Leaders the morning of Tuesday, March 13. For more details on the agenda, visit the United Philanthropy Forum website.
