GGA Site Visit:
Philanthropy & Entrepreneurship in Central Georgia

When: Tuesday, July 31, 2018 Location: Macon, Georgia

Based on your feedback, the Georgia Grantmakers Alliance has selected Tuesday, July 31 as the new date for this year's site visit. We’ll convene in Macon to learn about how the philanthropic and entrepreneurial sectors are working together to fuel innovative ideas that are transforming Central Georgia.

Our day-long event will take you to several locations in Macon that demonstrate the change taking place there, including:

  • Capricorn Recording Studio – The legendary studio that hosted recording sessions by The Allman Brothers Band, The Marshall Tucker Band, the Charlie Daniels Band has been beautifully restored as part of a major downtown development.
  • The Mercer Innovation Center – Offering the education, community, office space, tools, mentors, student interns, and access to investors that can take an idea from conception to market.

You’ll also hear from speakers who have helped drive change in Macon and learn how the work being done there can be expanded to communities throughout our state. Our speakers include:

  • Josh Rogers – President & CEO, NewTown Macon
  • Stephanie Howard – Deputy Director, Mercer Innovation Center
  • Karen Lambert – President & CEO, The Peyton Anderson Foundation

Our full agenda will be announced soon!

We hope you can join us for a day devoted to the power of partnership and innovation –  registration is now open
