Effective corporate giving doesn’t happen in a vacuum. To get the most from your community investment, you’ve got to understand the landscape, know the key players, and have a solid team of allies and partners. Atlanta Corporate Donors (ACD) gives you all that and more, with regular networking opportunities and a full complement of knowledgeable peers and industry experts to increase your knowledge — and your philanthropic effectiveness.

The Atlanta Corporate Donors is an informal, professional network of corporate grantmakers that meets for lunch six or seven times per year. The meetings convene on the third Wednesday in designated months. ACD members are also invited to attend the quarterly luncheon meetings of the Atlanta Foundations Forum. The Southeastern Council of Foundations, the region’s professional association for grantmakers, serves as administrator.

This vibrant, confidential, peer network fosters personal and professional development through roundtable discussions and expert updates on legal issues, legislative issues, capital campaigns, grantmaking and employee volunteerism. Members also have the advantage of polling one another for input regarding specific areas of concern via e-mail or during open meeting discussions.

ACD membership is open to individual professionals who work in corporate foundations or giving programs. Dues are $335 per person (if their organization is an SECF member, dues are $395 for individuals from organizations that are not SECF members) and are meant to simply cover the cost of lunch. Members and guests agree to honor the ACD non-solicitation policy. Members may invite potential and new members to the luncheon gratis. New members may be recommended and are approved by the acting convener.

Corporate philanthropy has an opportunity to redefine the purpose and value for corporate foundations and giving programs. Visionary leaders in our field have proven that when corporate philanthropy is managed as an investment in society, it can become a powerful catalytic force for change!

Who’s raising money for what? Who’s supporting whom? What are the issues we all are facing? Where are the most promising partnership opportunities? Where are the most impressive outcomes? Learn all this and more at the regular gatherings of Atlanta Corporate Donors.
